Frequently Asked Questions

We’re here to help you

Yes. We believe in the power of nature and its beauty. Each copper bottle is handcrafted with love by our experienced artisans in Northern India, in a carefully-selected location that produces the finest of copper products. With every product being hand-crafted, this means each piece is handmade to be different from any other.

Some of the items may have minor imperfections in their finishing - just as nature does not produce two similar things. True piece of art!

Once the products are approved to be shipped to us in the UK, the team will pick your chosen Paani product, inspect and pack it especially for you, so that you can join them and start to Drink Fresh. Drink Pure. Drink Paani.

Copper is our main ingredient. The copper used in our products is over 99.9% pure and freshly made by hand. It's an amazing feeling to know that we are providing you with water bottles of high quality, as they undoubtedly will last much longer than anything else out there. Our bottles have no joints or seams and we also haven’t used any heavy metals during the production process, meaning it is toxicity-free.

It is essential that our products are as pure as possible, and to ensure this, we had this inspected by one of the world’s leading inspection companies, SGS. The results confirmed that our Paani Bottles passed all of the legal regulations.

Here at Paani, we want to make sure that we make products that are pure, sustainable and eco-friendly, so we have carried out the appropriate tests to ensure that our products are one of the best on the market.

Fresh and pure is what comes to mind! Drinking water from copper first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is said to provide optimal benefits and can be considered a great way of starting off your day right! This drinking method follows Ayurvedic principles which recommend 4-8 hours for best results! Leaving it during this time will make your water taste fresh and pure! The reason for this is because the water will become increasingly alkaline the longer it remains in the copper bottle.

Fill up your bottle during the day when required and avoid leaving water in your bottle for more than 16 hours.

Yes. To avoid any negative effects of copper on your health, we recommend only storing still water in our Paani Bottles. Milk or acidic liquids such as soda and juices could react with this precious metal and create unwanted compounds that will affect how you feel over time.

Absolutely! The tests conducted on Paani Bottles are primarily done using UK tap water. However, many of our customers also choose to fill their bottles with filtered water for added peace of mind before allowing the copper to work its magic.

The pure copper in our bottles naturally contributes to water purification and wellness benefits, regardless of the water source. Whether you're using tap or filtered water, the properties of copper enhance the experience by offering an extra layer of protection.

So yes – tap water works perfectly, but if you prefer filtered water, that's great too!

Why would we drink water that's been sitting around for 24 hours? It could be full of chemicals and other things we don't need!

Here at Paani we precisely choose not to create double-walled or insulated copper water bottles, and there are only two reasons to use a double-walled or insulated bottle: to keep water cold, or to keep it hot.

The ancient practice of Ayurveda suggests that we should drink lukewarm or room temperature water rather than cold because it can extinguish our digestive fire.

Our purpose is to always “Drink Fresh. Drink Pure. Drink Paani.”

Yes. We wanted to ensure that not only you get the wellness benefits from this Paani bottle but also have it aesthetically pleasing by introducing different coloured grip sleeves designed especially for your Paani bottle but also giving that extra grip and protection to when you’re on the go. These sleeves are interchangeable with any other Paani Grip Sleeve.

Watch this video for a step-by-step guide on our grip sleeves here!

The Paani grip sleeves are designed and moulded specifically for our re-usable Paani copper water bottles. The silicone sleeves are there for better grip and protection during your daily use.

If you know that you won’t be using it, then opt for no sleeve.

Additional Paani grip sleeves can be purchased in different colours.

Paani’s Jihva Tongue Scraper stands out because it’s not just any copper scraper – it’s been tested and certified to be 99.9% pure copper. This ensures maximum antimicrobial benefits, helping to effectively remove bacteria and toxins for better oral hygiene.

What makes Jihva even more unique is that it’s backed by dental professionals across the UK who recognise its role in promoting better oral health. By choosing Jihva, you’re opting for a tool trusted by experts and designed to deliver real results.

Durable, sustainable, and crafted for performance – Jihva reflects the best of copper’s natural benefits, supporting both your wellness and the environment.

Daily use is recommended – ideally twice a day. Use it in the morning before eating or drinking to remove bacteria and toxins that build up overnight. For even better results, scrape again at night before bed to clear away any residue from the day.

This simple habit keeps your breath fresh, supports oral health, and enhances overall wellness.

Ayurveda developed over 3 thousand years ago in India, which incorporates many insights gained through natural science with spiritual beliefs about wellbeing and wellness. Ayurvedic medicine remains influential even though most modern countries have adopted more westernised wellness care systems.

The reference between Copper and Ayurveda is that the healing properties of copper are well known in India, where it has been used for centuries to treat everything from skin conditions and inflammation to respiratory problems.

The first time you use your Paani copper water bottle, it's important to give the inside a clean before use it, but also the same cleaning process once a week. All you require is to place the following ingredients INSIDE your Paani bottle:

- Distilled vinegar (3/4 table spoons)
- Sea salt (2 table spoons)
- Lukewarm water

Alternatively, if you do not have distilled vinegar then you can use citric acid or a fresh lemon with luke warm water.
For the exterior we recommend to rinse it under warm water only.

We've made this process easy by providing a step-by-step video on how to do just that - see here!

Our bottles are NOT dishwasher friendly and we DON'T recommend using any scrubs as this will damage the protective lacquer. Be sure to watch the full cleaning video which explains the cleaning process here. Your grip sleeve on the other hand, is dishwasher-friendly.

The durable copper will naturally discolour over time, especially internally. The dark spots that occur are completely normal. This is called Patina and is caused by copper being a reactive metal to oxygen and moisture and importantly, it is nothing to worry about. In fact, this is a positive sign and shows that you own a pure copper product.

We know the discolouration can be unsightly to some, so how do you get rid of it? It takes a few simple steps but we can get that sparkle back easily. We've made this process simple by providing a step-by-step video here!

The copper in a Paani bottle will protect you from bacteria, so there's no need to wash your bottles every day! We recommend doing the deep cleaning process once a week. When not in use, do not store water in and keep it dry. https://youtu.be/rwCpFL6FBtc

The Paani grip sleeves are made exclusively for your Paani Bottles to protect, insulate and add style. The cleaning process is easy as they are dishwasher friendly but also can be washed in warm soapy water also.

We have designed this product in such a way so that it is easy to clean, using ingredients you can find in your kitchen cupboard. The only suggestion we have is to use sea salt as opposed to table salt, as it is stronger and buffs away the discolouration more effectively. In regards to vinegar, we recommend using distilled vinegar as this reacts to the copper well. Alternatively, you can use fresh lemon juice or citric acid alongside lukewarm water. Our care kit is there to help if required.

Not only are our products a graceful replacement for plastic or steel bottles, but also good for both your wellness and this planet. If well looked after, our product can be passed on to the next generation with no negative impacts!

Yes – copper is 100% recyclable! In fact, at least 80% of all copper ever mined is still in use or available for future use. Copper can be recycled indefinitely without losing its performance, making it one of the most sustainable materials out there.

At Paani, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Our products are handcrafted, and while most meet our high standards, some pieces don’t quite make the cut. But nothing goes to waste – any rejected items are recycled and re-purposed, ready to be crafted again.

So when you choose Paani, you're not just choosing wellness – you're supporting a process that values sustainability from start to finish.

Yes. As well as our bottles, we have ensured that our grip sleeves are environmentally friendly also by conducting tests by one of the world’s leading inspection companies, SGS.

The test was directly done onto the silicone material and it proves that there was no toxic chemicals such as Mercury(Hg), Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb).
